John 9: 4 4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
We are not at that time, but it is difficult to get out to those we care about.
John 4:34- 3834 “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. 35 Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. 36 Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. 37 Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. 38 I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.”
Don’t worry whether you got someone or not. The fields are still white for harvest. If we can’t reap, then we can sow. We do what we can. Thats all God expects.
Galatians 6:6-10 6 Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor. 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
When we sow seeds we sometimes see the weeds, but our job is to keep sowing. If we start sowing, we will have a harvest. Keep doing good. Keep on going. Sports teams don’t give up, but we have more than a game. Don’t give up.
We are believers of the Word and the whole aspect of God and the Holy Spirit. We take the word that we study into our lives. Not depending on ourselves to reason it out, but we depend on the Holy Spirit as a resource and empowerment. Keep ourselves in tune. Whatever situation we face, we have the relationship of the Holy Spirit to help us. When we pray in the spirit before the Lord, we know God is undertaking for us. He is introducing power and love into their heart.
Book of Samuel
God does wonderful things in the most impossible way. God can do anything, but fail. He can use any vessel as He wants. Samuel was an impossible person, in an impossible environment, parents were not able to have children. For miracles to happen there needs to be obedience. They did not let natural thinking sway them. He is a miracle making God. We wouldn’t recognize a miracle if we did not have an impossible situation. God has a divine plan. God stepped in to Hannah’s pain and sorrow and gave her children.
We need to apply to our modern day. Don’t give up. We are a workmanship in process. We don’t always know ourselves. Reveal to us every part that needs to come into alignment and agreement with you. We willingly surrender every part. In the moment of our distress, we trust in His goodness. He handles us with tender loving care as well as authority. We don’t earn an anointing or calling, we are gifted from God for His purposes. We need to encourage ourselves by the character of God and His love for us.
The nation of Israel chose Saul to be their leader even though God wanted a man after His heart.
Deuteronomy 17:14-20 Qualifications for king.
1. King must come from same heritage
2. King must not have many horses. They horses came from Egypt and interacting with them would be contrary to their spiritual growth.
3. King must not take many wives Treaties were guaranteed by marriage. Foreign women would cause king to abandon. Do not be unequally yoked.
4. The king must not accumulate a lot of silver or gold. Riches compromise our dependency on God.
5. King must keep a copy of Torah and read it every day of his life. By reading it daily, the word becomes a part of our life.
