Anchor for my Soul

Discouragement began to dispel like the fog in the realm of worship. The altitude of our attitude needs to rise above our situation. The thoughts of the contrary cannot be in the same place as the presence of the Lord.

I will give them perfect peace whose mind is stayed on me.

Let not your heart be troubled.

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but for the pulling down of strongholds.

We are called to live in the unity of faith.

We are a nation under God with liberty and justice of all.

There are three flags that will forever wave upon us, flag of our faith, flag over Israel, flag of our nation.

What the enemy meant for evil, God meant for good.

Holy Spirit, You are welcome here. I am inviting God.

Who can be against you if God is for you.

The body of Christ worldwide must stand on the Word of God. We never should justify our self unless it lines up with the Word.

His Word is true and I need to adjust any of my attitudes that are contrary to it.

We will not be reprogrammed from the Word of God but we will be enlightened by the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

Everyday is sweeter than the day before. Song of thanksgiving. We will have God in every situation. We are seeing the results of the battle we live in. The banner over us is love. Elisha (2 Kings 5:6) says look through eyes of faith to see what God is going to do with it. See the Angelic host of angels in that situation. We find ourselves being adjusted. We are privileged to see the power of God and the hand of God. We are called a vessel of God. Each one of us are a minister of the gospel.

We are offered opportunities that we might have made a difference in someones life, but we sometimes miss it and we simply need to humble ourselves and go to the Lord

Pray for our Country

Deuteronomy 29:29
2The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.

Psalm 85

You, Lord, showed favor to your land;
    you restored the fortunes of Jacob.
You forgave the iniquity of your people
    and covered all their sins.
[b]
You set aside all your wrath
    and turned from your fierce anger.

Restore us again, God our Savior,
    and put away your displeasure toward us.
Will you be angry with us forever?
    Will you prolong your anger through all generations?
Will you not revive us again,
    that your people may rejoice in you?
Show us your unfailing love, Lord,
    and grant us your salvation.

I will listen to what God the Lord says;
    he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants—
    but let them not turn to folly.
Surely his salvation is near those who fear him,
    that his glory may dwell in our land

10 Love and faithfulness meet together;
    righteousness and peace kiss each other.
11 Faithfulness springs forth from the earth,
    and righteousness looks down from heaven.
12 The Lord will indeed give what is good,
    and our land will yield its harvest.
13 Righteousness goes before him
    and prepares the way for his steps.

There is so much gaining on around us and in us. We will need to deal with those who have opposing views to the heart of God. The voice of God will speak to our hearts with lightness and hope despite what is going on. There is nothing the enemy can do to take that from us. We are not isolated. He wants to speak peace to us. Believers around the world are praying for the same things. May we rise up in new strength. Something is happening in the spiritual world. We feel quickened from words heard many years ago. Our spirit would not let go of our hope. We are witnessing the transformation in our country, our families, and our personal life. We need to respond. Our spirits are sensitive even when our minds are not. We need to let God walk over another threshold in our life. We are a people who cares. We know that God is faithful. The enemy wants us to use his weapons of anger, bitterness, and resentments. But God has new weapons to walk in victory. God is catching every tear as a treasure. Be sure our desires and needs are in agreement with the word of God. We will see things of the future being revealed. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. We need to recognize the stages of the birth of the promise. We are living it and we will see it. Live the victory we have. Best thing for us is to listen and pray and go on with our calling. The word of God is accompanied by the Holy Spirit. He is the revealer and the enabler. The enemy wants us to go to bed with the problem but the Lord wants us to go to bed with the hope. There is a hope we don’t understand. Hope is rising up globally. We all have a song in our heart. Carry people through the fire and the trials of life. Pray for each other.

Prayer is of utmost importance. We enter our day with thanksgiving. We remind ourselves of the treasure we have in the midst of zoom. God is making something productive during this time of isolation. There are so many uncertainties in our life. We are people of like heart. We are more than friends…we are family. The Holy Spirit makes the difference. It connects us spirit to spirit and heart to heart.

Heavenly City

Hebrews 11:10 For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

We cannot escape the reality of our world. But we can’t look at this world as destiny. We are pilgrims. Some fear because they don’t know God. We can have joy, excitement, and anticipation. We have a right to have victory on our knees. It is hard in the natural to experience hope, but we will have hope if we take our eyes and put them on Jesus. He is more real. There is a reality that is prepared. There is an eternal destiny. The city of God has a foundation of victory, of healing, of light. The enemy wants us to believe we are in a cave but we are in a tunnel with the light at the end. There is a place already prepared. While we travel to our eternal home, we light a flame in our spirit.

We are all together, not in the same room but the same heart.

Finding our balance.

James 1:8 Double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Things want to distract our focus…even good things. We need to stay constant in the source of our help. We are challenged by many things. We can’t cope with things coming at us all at once. Sometimes we have all kinds of feelings…fear, anxiety. We need to be single minded without excluding anything. Too much excess will be counterproductive in our testimony. Ask God to quicken to us the right priority. We may be ineffective when we try to handle too many things. We need to come before the Lord and give Him our situation…giving us peace body, soul and spirit in balance when we submit it to the Lord. We can’t anticipate things sometime but the Lord prepares the path before us. If we are attacked in a way of temptation, the Lord will reveal it to us and hold our hand as He helps us walk through it. He will use the situation to teach us and we demonstrate to others our willingness to surrender to the Lord. We are more than conquerors. Let the Holy Spirit quicken our mind, guide us and correct us. Let’s try to not waste a moment of speaking love, being an act of kindness. The footsteps we leave on the sands of time will show the direction we are going and where we came from.

For such a time as this…Part 25

We can’t define what is happening from a dictionary. It is a spiritual matter. The effects, whether it is health or politics, are known by the spirit. The seeds of prayer are planted in hopeless situations. We need to find balance in the time of confusion. Balance is necessary to walk with strength and determination. Imbalance affects our attitude and usefulness. The definition of our times is that it doesn’t seem to have any balance…even in the church. We left out subjects of holiness and righteousness, not because we are evil, but because we have other things that are distracting us. We need to examine our own life and be guarded to hold on to the whole entirety of our faith, not compromised or redefined.

James1:1-6 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God,who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

The inner man bears witness with the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God will give us assurance. Thank God for the answers before they manifest. He works things out. He didn’t jerk the tares and the wheat out at the same time. He has a season and a timing.

The testing of our faith produces patience. It establishes the word in our life. Trial will never give us more than we can handle. Exercised faith brings us into something more… patience will bring the perfect work. We pray according to God’s will. We exercise the realm of personal surrender. Entering into joy is entering in perfect peace. We are developing our faith, by finding our balance. We need to engage spiritually in every area of our life. We need to not neglect fellowship. We need to guard and control what we speak. We need to develop listening not just speaking. We need to fill our minds with understanding , not just knowledge. If we saturate ourselves with what’s on TV, we may become unbalanced. We need to be wise in our time with the Lord. We need to build ourselves up. Ask God to search our hearts, He will keep us balanced or help us make the adjustments.

John 9: 4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”

We are not at that time, but it is difficult to get out to those we care about.

John 4:34- 3834 “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. 35 Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. 36 Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. 37 Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. 38 I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.”

Don’t worry whether you got someone or not. The fields are still white for harvest. If we can’t reap, then we can sow. We do what we can. Thats all God expects.

Galatians 6:6-10 Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor. Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

When we sow seeds we sometimes see the weeds, but our job is to keep sowing.If we start sowing, we will have a harvest. Keep doing good. Keep on going. Sports teams don’t give up, but we have more than a game. Don’t give up.

We are believers of the Word and the whole aspect of God and the Holy Spirit. We take the word that we study into our lives. Not depending on ourselves to reason it out, but we depend on the Holy Spirit as a resource and empowerment. Keep ourselves in tune. Whatever situation we face, we have the relationship of the Holy Spirit to help us. When we pray in the spirit before the Lord, we know God is undertaking for us. He is introducing power and love into their heart.

Book of Samuel

God does wonderful things in the most impossible way. God can do anything, but fail. He can use any vessel as He wants. Samuel was an impossible person, in an impossible environment, parents were not able to have children. For miracles to happen there needs to be obedience. They did not let natural thinking sway them. He is a miracle making God. We wouldn’t recognize a miracle if we did not have an impossible situation. God has a divine plan. God stepped in to Hannah’s pain and sorrow and gave her children.

We need to apply to our modern day. Don’t give up. We are a workmanship in process. We don’t always know ourselves. Reveal to us every part that needs to come into alignment and agreement with you. We willingly surrender every part. In the moment of our distress, we trust in His goodness. He handles us with tender loving care as well as authority. We don’t earn an anointing or calling, we are gifted from God for His purposes. We need to encourage ourselves by the character of God and His love for us.

The nation of Israel chose Saul to be their leader even though God wanted a man after His heart.

Deuteronomy 17:14-20 Qualifications for king.

1. King must come from same heritage

2. King must not have many horses. They horses came from Egypt and interacting with them would be contrary to their spiritual growth.

3. King must not take many wives Treaties were guaranteed by marriage. Foreign women would cause king to abandon. Do not be unequally yoked.

4. The king must not accumulate a lot of silver or gold. Riches compromise our dependency on God.

5. King must keep a copy of Torah and read it every day of his life. By reading it daily, the word becomes a part of our life.

Habbakuk 1-3

The prophecy that Habakkuk the prophet received

How long, Lord, must I call for help,
    but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, “Violence!”
    but you do not save?
Why do you make me look at injustice?
    Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?

Destruction and violence are before me;
    there is strife, and conflict abounds.
Therefore the law is paralyzed,
    and justice never prevails.
The wicked hem in the righteous,
    so that justice is perverted.

We hear and see the negative. It is the same with us concerning the United States. God is patient and wants everyone to be saved. His will is that all will come to Him.

The Lord’s Answer

“Look at the nations and watch—
    and be utterly amazed.
For I am going to do something in your days
    that you would not believe,
    even if you were told.
I am raising up the Babylonians,[a]
    that ruthless and impetuous people,
who sweep across the whole earth
    to seize dwellings not their own.
They are a feared and dreaded people;
    they are a law to themselves
    and promote their own honor.

Their horses are swifter than leopards,
    fiercer than wolves at dusk.
Their cavalry gallops headlong;
    their horsemen come from afar.
They fly like an eagle swooping to devour;
    they all come intent on violence.
Their hordes
[b] advance like a desert wind
    and gather prisoners like sand.
10 They mock kings
    and scoff at rulers.
They laugh at all fortified cities;
    by building earthen ramps they capture them.
11 Then they sweep past like the wind and go on—
    guilty people, whose own strength is their god.”

Habakkuk’s Second Complaint

12 Lord, are you not from everlasting?
    My God, my Holy One, you
[c] will never die.
You, Lord, have appointed them to execute judgment;
    you, my Rock, have ordained them to punish.
13 Your eyes are too pure to look on evil;
    you cannot tolerate wrongdoing.
Why then do you tolerate the treacherous?
    Why are you silent while the wicked
    swallow up those more righteous than themselves?
14 You have made people like the fish in the sea,
    like the sea creatures that have no ruler.
15 The wicked foe pulls all of them up with hooks,
    he catches them in his net,
he gathers them up in his dragnet;
    and so he rejoices and is glad.
16 Therefore he sacrifices to his net
    and burns incense to his dragnet,
for by his net he lives in luxury
    and enjoys the choicest food.
17 Is he to keep on emptying his net,
    destroying nations without mercy?

I will stand at my watch
    and station myself on the ramparts;
I will look to see what he will say to me,
    and what answer I am to give to this complaint.
[a]

Then the Lord replied:

“Write down the revelation
    and make it plain on tablets
    so that a herald
[b] may run with it.
For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
    it speaks of the end
    and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
    it
[c] will certainly come
    and will not delay.

“See, the enemy is puffed up;
    his desires are not upright—
    but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness
[d]
indeed, wine betrays him;
    he is arrogant and never at rest.
Because he is as greedy as the grave
    and like death is never satisfied,
he gathers to himself all the nations
    and takes captive all the peoples.

“Will not all of them taunt him with ridicule and scorn, saying,

‘Woe to him who piles up stolen goods
    and makes himself wealthy by extortion!
    How long must this go on?’
Will not your creditors suddenly arise?
    Will they not wake up and make you tremble?
    Then you will become their prey.
Because you have plundered many nations,
    the peoples who are left will plunder you.
For you have shed human blood;
    you have destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them.

“Woe to him who builds his house by unjust gain,
    setting his nest on high
    to escape the clutches of ruin!
10 You have plotted the ruin of many peoples,
    shaming your own house and forfeiting your life.
11 The stones of the wall will cry out,
    and the beams of the woodwork will echo it.

1“Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed
    and establishes a town by injustice!
13 Has not the Lord Almighty determined
    that the people’s labor is only fuel for the fire,
    that the nations exhaust themselves for nothing?
14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord
    as the waters cover the sea.

15 “Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbors,
    pouring it from the wineskin till they are drunk,
    so that he can gaze on their naked bodies!
16 You will be filled with shame instead of glory.
    Now it is your turn! Drink and let your nakedness be exposed
[e]!
The cup from the Lord’s right hand is coming around to you,
    and disgrace will cover your glory.
17 The violence you have done to Lebanon will overwhelm you,
    and your destruction of animals will terrify you.
For you have shed human blood;
    you have destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them.

1“Of what value is an idol carved by a craftsman?
    Or an image that teaches lies?
For the one who makes it trusts in his own creation;
    he makes idols that cannot speak.
19 Woe to him who says to wood, ‘Come to life!’
    Or to lifeless stone, ‘Wake up!’
Can it give guidance?
    It is covered with gold and silver;
    there is no breath in it.”

2The Lord is in his holy temple;
    let all the earth be silent before him.

The answers from God will not wait, but the time before is our faith. God is in control. That is for this nation. We can turn our hearts to God. We can stand up and fight…the spiritual battle

Habbakuk 3:6-9

He stood, and shook the earth;
    he looked, and made the nations tremble.
The ancient mountains crumbled
    and the age-old hills collapsed—
    but he marches on forever.
I saw the tents of Cushan in distress,
    the dwellings of Midian in anguish.

Were you angry with the rivers, Lord?
    Was your wrath against the streams?
Did you rage against the sea
    when you rode your horses
    and your chariots to victory?
You uncovered your bow,
    you called for many arrows.
You split the earth with rivers;

We praise the Lord. We trust you and love you, Lord. He will talk to us. We need to talk to Him. Ask questions and expect answers.. Listen, Keep a journal, Wait for Him

Thoughts to consider…Anchors for my soul

  1. Look beyond the wall. Wall keeps us out, or keeps us in. Rise above ground level. Look above the situation. Climb up on our faith. Change the vantage point. We are victorious now when we have faith. Never let there be a doubt. Walk in it and exercise it. The battle continues to be fought for our country, family, ourselves. See the wall for what it is. If something is hindering us, bring it to the Lord. He sees clearly. Is it something that is protecting us, or keeping you back? The difficulty is used by God as a vehicle to mature us and bring clarity. The wall is not necessarily negative. Do not respond by using our imagination. Counsel with the mind of God to identify it. We don’t make the best decisions when we are discouraged. Encourage ourselves in the Lord. It is not a lesson about the problem, it is a lesson about our relationship with the Lord. We need to go to the Word of God and the Spirit of God to examine ourselves Part of the treasure we receive is the journey. God will etch it on our hearts. The cost will be our pride.
  2. The Word f God is not fear based. The flesh wants to convince the soul that it is not good, but The Word is always protecting us. God will give you the power, decernment, and timing. The right decision at the wrong time is like eating fruit before it is ripe. God does not have two standards for different people. He never designed us to fail. Sometimes when we fail shows us we are in the learning process.

Discussion from Revealing the Mysteries of Heaven by David Jeremiah

1 Corinthians 15: 42-44 42 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

The resurrected body that will be superior. It is perfectly suited for eternity. These words give us a picture of our new body. Our new body is incredible…not subject to accident, aging, or disease.

Rom 6:8-9Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.

  1. raised in glory, they will be identifiable.
  2. raised in power, they will be incredible
  3. raised in spiritual body, they will be infinite

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

The Holy Spirit is the anchor for my soul It is His purpose, not our purpose, that He will complete through our weakness, in any season, as long as we guard our pride. He is the one who defines me.

Acts 17:28a for in Him we live and move and have our being…for we are also His offspring

As time goes on we change by the renewing of our mind, not by viewing how the world affect us but by how we relate to the kingdom. We move because He is our motivation.

Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong to the Lord our God. but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law

God takes us where we are and makes us stronger, more mature.
Those things that are revealed are for us and our children. We need to discern and memorize the word of God. No matter the darkness of night, there is the brightness of His light. Our faith and understanding of the ways and works of God are being enlarged. Take those situations help us to reexamine our lives. Is it to learn of His favor, expand our understanding or is it trying to tear me down. What you don’t understand, lay at the feet of Jesus. These lessons are not caused by God, but are used by God.

Esther 4:14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Just because we are a Christian, it doesn’t remove us from consequences in the world. No matter what we see happening, it wasn’t to destroy you. It was to save you and the people looking up to you and depending on you. If we can’t determine if this is a time made for us, then we have to know how to contend for ourselves with the character and truth of the word of God for the essence of what we believe. We need to embrace and love We are called to combat according to Spirit. Talk to the Lord and fellowship. We need to live through it, not just endure it. We are not to be ignorant of how we respond according to His understanding. Soul and Spirit are victorious!

There are challenges and difficulties in our live…we can’t do this alone, we need each other. God so loved the world, He gave… How can I demonstrate by my attitude and behavior my love and live showing the love of Jesus.

Seasons that don’t belong are removed. We are planted, our personal lives are being cultivated. We need to trust our heart and spirit even when we failed God or someone else in the past Esther could be obedient and used by God or she could have chosen not to be. Why not give up on me Lord? Because I have failed you…because my struggles are made perfect in you when I have personal surrender and yielding. Everyone wants to define us according to our problem, but God defines us according to who we are in Him and with Him. We can’t retreat in time, He forgave me, leave that up to Him. Is it factual guilt or fabricated guilt? Bring it before God and He will remove the accusation and guilt and frees us to greater freedom. Our life isn’t done. Let God be the builder … We have artificial bricks that look good on the outside but are put together with sand. God uses the mud and mortar of our lives and builds something solid that can’t be shaken. Remove the arsenal of guilt and shame and let God do the building.

Assignment: Read Esther 3 and 4
